What do you need to bring?

  • Hard soled slippers

  • Appropriate clothing, children do get messy!

  • Change of clothes and additional pants etc during potty training (we do have spares)

  • Wellies

  • Coat and/or jumper appropriate to the weather

  • Drinks bottle

  • Lunch if staying (please make sure you do not pack any food containing nuts as we are a nut free setting)

  • Nappies/baby wipes

  • Please ensure everything is clearly marked with your child's name.

What to do on arrival

Please ring the door bell and a member of staff will come out to greet you and take your child in. We operate a 2 by 2 policy so children have chance to get their slippers on without too many people in the lobby. This will mean there maybe a short wait as everyone gets through the gate. If at any stage you would like to come in with your child, please just say to the member of staff on the gate. Ideally, if you are building up settling in sessions please come from 9.15am.                              There is a board of sticky names and we encourage the children to find their own name and put it above their peg.

Snack time

We offer the children a snack in the morning which usually consists of a bread stick/crackers and a piece of fruit or veg (such as apple and cucumber). We like to encourage the children to cut the snack and help themselves and then the children are offered milk or water as well. The children's drinks bottles are always made available to them. Lunch for any children staying is eaten at 12.15pm all together.

Open door

Menheniot Playgroup has an open door policy. If you want to talk to your child's key worker at any point please see them at drop off/pick up to arrange a meeting. You will receive a message via our tapestry app to let you know your key worker.. Also if you feel your child may need a slow introduction to the setting we are more than happy to accommodate this, please speak with the Playgroup Leader Emma Grange.

Facebook

Menheniot Playgroup has two facebook pages: One for general use and enquiries and the other for parents only. When your child starts with us, please add yourself to the parents only page for approval. The staff will regularly add photos and videos of any group activities the children are doing. This gives a really lovely insight into what your children are up to without you while being restricted to parents or carers only. The committee will also post regular updates and details on fundraising.

Tapestry

We use the Tapestry Online Learning Journal where your child's key worker will keep you informed of your child's progress and development as well as sharing photos of what they've been up to over the past week. Tapestry is also a private and secure way for you to share messages or your photos with us, your pets and family and exciting things that your child's family may get up to. It is a great way to start conversations and learn about your child.

Invoices

If you are just using funded hours you will not receive an invoice from playgroup, instead you will fill out a funding form via the playgroup leader on a termly basis. If you are paying for all or any of your child's sessions you will be sent an invoice by email at the start of each month and payment is expected by the end of the month. If you have not received your invoice by email by the 7th of the month please let a member of staff know or email menheniotpg@gmail.com
